  1. Probably UK
  2. I can't say for certain but in the past it has always been better to take sterling and change it while you are there.
  3. Here's something many don't know.... The ATM! It will offer you the best exchange rates compared to those selling currencies in airports. Keep your money in the bank, then use the ATM card. I use it all the time!
  4. It's bound to be better to change it here. The banks here hold a reserve of Euros, whereas in Spain the banks aren't going to want or need a (relatively) tiny sum in Sterling to deal with. So they'll charge you for the hassle.
  5. Two weeks ago, I got €1.18 in the UK, and €1.24 in Spain. Don't change money at a bank in Spain - they'll rip you off for commission. Have a look at the local exchange shops - they give the best rates with no commission.
  6. They both use the amex tourist rate. Currently Marks and Spencer have on offer where they exchange (no fees) lightly over the amex rate. For best value you require a Nationwide Bank Account and use their debit card in Spanish atm. No fees and you get the 'midrate' for exchange. This will net you around 4% more € per pound than any other form of money transaction
  7. why do you want to exchange money in rhe uk ?"? take your creditcard and go to an ATM machine in spain this is the best way to go never change money at a bank they will take your pants off
