Which is the better exchange rate GBP to US Dollar or Euro to US Dollar at the moment?
Hello, Right, I really tried solving this question by myself, but I am getting too confused! I am due to go on holidays and need to exchange money into US Dollar. I have both, a Euro bank account and a Pound Sterling bank account. Now - which one is better for me to change money from: Euro into US Dollar or GBP into US Dollar? Will it make a big difference or are we talking about a few quid difference, which is not really making a difference? Many thanks!!! I am really struggeling with this one!

- Poor baby, try the pound.
- I think the rates are similar to this 1GBP= 3 US Dollars 1Euro=2.5 US Dollars These may not be exact but i thnk they are pretty close
- It makes no practical difference at all for a straight, one-off conversion. Use whichever account is more convenient for you. There is a trend lately of the Euro gaining strength on the dollar to a greater degree than the dollar losing ground on Sterling. If you're going to be using your debit card to make $ purchases whilst on holiday then the Euro account is likely to be the better choice.
- £0.505 075 54 = €0.634 718 97 = $1.000 000 00 There is no difference at eight significant digits. Choose the one that has the least bank charge for currency conversion. Currencies fluctuate so the numbers may change, but what I did was look up one dollar in pounds sterling and euros. Then I looked up pounds sterling in euros. The results are at the top.
