How much would it cost to replace the breaks on a 1993 Chevy Lumina euro?

How much would it cost to replace the breaks on a 1993 Chevy Lumina euro? Just have them squeaking and wondering how much am I going to pay if I goto the shop :-)

  1. If it is just the pads it won't be too much, less than $100. That is most likely. If it's more serious, you could easily pay several hundred. You would need to determine then if it's worth it.
  2. should be 125 per axle...i did it myself for 30 for pads- and 10 a piece to get rotors turned- and 6 bucks for seals- already had greese to repack bearings
  3. Don't be too surprised if the rear brakes are costly, as GM was having law-suit issues for a while with those W-body vehicles. The rear caliper slides and parking brakes freeze-up with rust and become inoperative. A lot of times, the rotors, calipers, pads and parking brake cables all need replacement to get them working properly. If the rear brakes dont operate properly, they can cause the front brakes to wear out very fast, like in 5000 miles. So make sure who ever looks at your vehicle, are trained , as you dont wanna replace anything more or less then needed. Front brakes without calipers or rotors normally cost around $160 and the rear on those vehicles, if they need calipers, will run you around 400 bucks.
