Euro J

The euro has just spiked against the dollar, I realize we need to diversify to a rational currency but?

the euro is a conglomerated fund. I would have expected the yen or the pound. Why the euro?

  1. The Euro is the next best thing. Japan's economy is still suffering from the deflation of the 90s. Not to mention that Japan is known for messing with its currency to best suit the Japanese economy. Bad news for any international economies that might try to use the Yen as a reserve. The only other major player is China, but its Communist, has major inflation issues, and its currency isn't floated, but set by government decree. As for everybody else, they are small potatoes.. The USD and the Euro are the only two viable reserve currencies in the world. And given a choice, the USD still is superior to the Euro.
