How do forex options affect forex market? Anybody can tell me how forex options affect forex market? Do they actually affect the market only when they are exercised? Does an exercise of a forex option occur at the same time as a sell-off of the option? (My understanding is that when an option expires, you have to exercise it then sell it to make profit) OK, for more clarification, my understanding is that, when an option is exercised, you open a position at the stated price. But I don't know if the opened position has to be closed immediately. Correct me if I am wrong.

Taxing the money made in Forex market? I live in UK! First Question: Do I need to pay tax on the money which I have made in forex Market (Foreign Exchange)? Somebody told me TAX already is included in the pair spread and you don’t need to pay any extra tax! Something like spread betting that is tax free! Is there anyone who knows forex real-time quote which is still running when the market is closed? We know that the forex market is closed at 5:00pm ET Friday and opened at 5:00pm ET Sunday. At the time of closing, almost all providers of forex real-time quotes on the internet do not show the movement of forex prices. Yet even though the market is closed, Transactions in the market is actually still running or in other words the price is still moving. Is there anyone who knows a forex real-time quote that is still going on when the market is closed? And please give me the URL of the provider.
Does anyone have tips on using Vantage Point software for trading the forex market? Have u found it useful?Ta! I find the short term moving average more predictable to base the trends for the following day or two. What I find unnerving is that it is not as simple as "buy" when the blue line crosses the "black line" as advertised on their website! Especially if the market is quite choppy, this could lead to many whipsaws. I also do not find the neurl index very useful, as at times the market goes in the opposite direction to the neural index. What I do find useful, although this was not suggested by the marketing department, was the use of the short term predictive average crossing the medium term moving average and or the 10 day sma; these proved better as a predictive trend for day trading. I fould the predictive ranges for the next day very misleading and certainly very unreliabe for placing stop losses or take profit levels. Does anybody have any good experience with this software? Your response will be much appreciated! Thank you!
Is 1% per day a reasonable amount of profit to expect from trading on Forex market? Can you expect to make 1% of profit per day on average, if you know what you are doing and if you spend reasonable amount of time on it?
What are you buying now at the forex market? I know this is "top secret" ;), but please share what's the currency you are now investing in. I bet on the NZD/USD, and just gladly discovered that NZD has the highest trend the past month against USD :) ... On the other hand I bought CHF/JPY and now I have very hard time and not so good feelings about CHF/JPY going over 0.92...what in fact I need. Thanks!

Why isthe British Pound on fire in the FOREX market? For those who follow foreign currency, the British Pound has been on a tear and for the first time in modern history the Pound will double the value of the US$, currently it is at 1.9921 US$. I am not complaining of course, I made good money today going against the US in favor of the British but I was wondering: 1, Why has the GBP been on a tear? 2. When will the US fight back against the British? 3. How will this affect the Euro as the value of the US$ has hit an all-time low against the Euro? (1.35 US$) 4. How long should I keep shorting the US$ before the US finally decides to fight back against the British and the European market, and when it does, will the rally be juicy enough to start buying the dollar again?
Hey Forex/Market Watcher-types: Why shouldn't I be shorting the yen? Then yen has been riding the carry trade meltdown for some time now. And for some reason, it's seen as a "safe" currency in times like this. But if you look at the fundamentals, Japan is in big trouble. So this crazy rise in the yen is starting to look like oil did in the first half of 2008: a speculative circle jerk without the fundamentals to back it up. Am I wrong? Is it too early yet to short? What do you think?
Have you traded in the FOREX market? Is it true you can lose 10 times what you put in? For example if I start with 100 I can actually lose 1000 off that hundred because they let you buy 10 times more than what you got?

What things are really responsible to control the forex market? I rarely bid on forex, but at the time of bidding I am unable to do any perfect calculation or presumption by which I can know that a particular currency is going to up or down, so that I can bid on that. Can you help me in this regard? And what the visible world's matters are there, which control this forex market too? I mean, if a big mishap will occur in a country(like earth quake, flood etc), will it control the forex market? If yes, then how and what the other things are there, which control this forex market as well?
How can I make money Forex trading? Having a real tough time being able to make money trading the forex market. Anyone make consistent profits and care to share some tips?
Anyone successfully using a forex trading system to make money consistently? Looking for a good system to make money in forex part time. I have a busy schedule but want to get in on trades without having to tie up a lot of time watching the market
Forex Market. Can a regular income be made? I was hoping that someone could help me out. I am wanting to trade in the Forex market but am wondering a couple of things: 1. Is there a "school" that I could go to that would teach how to trade and stay profitable (Personally I NEED a classroom setting to really learn something. I know it can be done online but online does not work for me) 2. What is a reasonable expectation of what can be made from month to month and from year to year. Could a person expect to make $100K per year, $1 million per year? I have heard people say that you should be able to, at minimum, double your money consistently in a month. That sounds to high to me. 3. What kind of daily time investment would I be looking at? If I COULD double my money every month but I would have to be hands on for 12 hours a day 6 days a week it would not be worth it to me. Could a good income be made in 2 hours or less per day? I am basically looking for a good school to get me started. And what I can expect. just so everyone knows. if you post a link that does not have revelavent info on it but only google adds I am not going to report you but will make sure that your ctr stays WELL over 1000%. I welcome everyone who is looking to get ban from adsense. I asked the question to get a real answer.
What are the top 5 most consistent and widely used indicators on the forex? Looking for an experienced or cited answer as to what the most consistent and widely used indicators are for the forex markets, and what the most popular time frame is. I usually trade the 1 hour, but I'm not sure if that is best or not.
Interest rate vs Forex market? Hi What is the impact of the interest rate on the Forex market. If i sell short us/can $ will i get paid interest or will i pay interest ? I read that there is some timing limit to respect like 05 pm and wenesday. Have a nice day M. Theriault
I want to trade currencies on the Forex market..what aremybest options for educating myself ? I want to trade currencies, and I want to go for tiny deals each time, and profit from the volatile nature of the Forex market, but reduce my risk by having a very tight risk management system that always protects my bank, I am looking to make tiny profits, on the fluctuations on a daily basis, but over and over again,I am looking for the best advice in terms of getting educated and started... I have ALREADY been dummy trading on bullbearings, this is not what I am looking for, nor do I want to join an expensive course which I could find advertised anywhere, and which I do not know if I can trust. Essentially I want to learn the necessary, to make the very small gains I am initially looking to make ,but on EACH trade, and from there I would like to ramp up. Your advice would be appreciated. also your experiences... Ithink it is possible to educate yourself to a level where one canmake small gains , with minimal risk, as long as the risk is understood and there is a risk management stratergy which protects your bank. I am not in a hurry, and I am not trying to get rich quick, but one day say in 5 to 10 years time I would like to be competent enough to trade with positive results. I do not believe this to be a dream which only a certain few people can ever hope to recognise. Education has enabled people to achieve far more spectacular feats than this in the past. I am looking for advice on education, not advice on if you think this is a good idea, the proof of the idea is already in the markets to be seen everyday.

Does anyone know how Forex Android can be tried out for free? I've recently came across this Forex trading solution. There are good and bad reviews about it across internet as with anything. I would like to tap into the forex market long time ago, and this solution seems to be something worth to try, and I've heard that it is freely available. I am still not sure what it does exactly... Is it like an Expert Advisor which can be installed on a Metatrader platform or under any other forex trading software? Does it actually do the trades or it is "just" a signal service? There are so much scam EAs and similar out there that I am very cautious about this. So basically I would like to try it on a demo account then on a live micro account etc. Is this possible? Please if You use this software (Android) and have experience with it, then post your thoughts and impressions here. Thanks in advance for your answer and time which you've spent with it! Best Wishes, Mate
Regarding Forex Market Hours? Everyone talks about how the Forex market is open 24-hours, but then what are these "sessions" about? For instance, the New York "session" is only open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST. Does that mean that you can only enter/exit a trade with a currency pair involving USD during THOSE hours? What I mean is, can you buy/sell EUR/USD or USD/EUR at ANY time during the day, or only when the New York and London sessions are BOTH open?
HAs anyone ever made any money from the forex market i mean any kind of substantial profit? is it worth it? I am new to the forex market I literally dont even know how it works MY freind just told me you can make thousands of dollars a month if you know what you are doing, I WANT TO KNOW IF HE IS JUST HYPING ME UP OR IS HE FOR REAL? FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND YOU MUST REALLY HAVE AN INCREDIBLE KNOWLEDGE OF THE SUBJECT AND HAVE YEArs of experience and even then its a a very good chance you wont make money I really would like to know if it is worth my time to spend hours researching currency trading because i dont know if it will give me much of a return.? I also have about 500 dollars to work with at least to start off with.
Who is the richest forex trader? I hear about all those people in the web who claim to be rich and earn a living in forex and finally try to sell you their "systems". What I dont understand is If their systems WORKS as they claim it works, they should probably be spending their time with their "system" and not trying to sell them... So all this spam aside, Is there really some person(genuine) who has become rich and famous by only trading/investing in the Forex Market? nobody????
is it better to invest in the share market or the forex market? i have a little money in hand which i want to invest. i thought i would buy some foreign currency but i heard the commission charged by the exchangers is really high. i plan to keep the currency as a long term investment.is it worth it? or should i just go in for trading in the stock market, i was a little apprehensive thinking it involves a lot of monitoring and i do not get much free time due to a hectic schedule. advice anyone? what's a cd? everyone talks about it but i've never understood :(
Do you know any Forex and Stock market training school in Toronto? Something I've always been interested in but I'm wondering if there's a course in Toronto one such as myself would be able to take? with out going to a business school or hanging out with slimy suites. I just think there is a lot of money to be made in stock market. specially now that everything is all up and down.. Forex is where the money is. No doubt. I know people on Forex making as much as 75% on there investment for as short of a time as 3 months. My friend plays Forex and he's profiting like a mad man. anyways.. anyone? Forex / Trading schools in Toronto Canada?
Which Forex Course is the best, whether you are a beginner, intermediate or experienced trader? Hi there my name is Ash and I am a full time forex trader. I would like to know more about your experience with different Forex courses and which one would be highly recommended or even the best. Your answers will be very helpful and please no affiliate links etc only genuine users of those different forex courses. Anyone sign up for a Forex Demo account, which forced you to sign up for a Meta4 Newsletter? I signed up for a couple of demo accounts to give this new EA a try. Anyway to sign up for these i had to agree to sign up for a news letter. No problem later on I get a phone call from a "David Scott" who put me through this "interview" process where he talks to me about my motivation, my goals, financial situation, financial goals, etc. etc. bottom line is their "company" is "picking a select few" to sign on for this part-time forex training program. i have to give them 10 hrs/week. They preach a 6-12 month at-home training program where I will be assigned to an "expert forex day trader". The idea is I will learn how to become a day trader and "make 6 figure income part time." I said I'm interested to hear more and he puts me in touch with a "JP Morgan." I have to fork over $5k for tuition and another $2k to put into my own live account to trade with. you can see i'm a little skeptical with all the quotation (") marks, but that is why i'm here. I figure many of you have signed up for demo accounts. Has anyone signed up for this newsletter? gotten the call? or better yet GONE THROUGH THE PROGRAM? JP Morgan for one sounded VERY knowledgeable about forex. He was talking about making trades with 3% until my 3% was $1k-$2k trades. I know very little in experience but im well read in forex. If this is a scam then "JP Morgan" is probably using the scam money in the forex market. no no, the guy's name is JP Morgan. This has nothing to do with the company JP Morgan. I'll try to get a company name out of them.
Forex previous closes.? On some websites, such as CNBC and MSN Money, they show the currency and show what the "Previous close" was. (example: EUR/USD 1.41032. Previous close: 1.39294) What is the previous close TIME? If the forex market is open 24/5 at what time in the day or night, do they use for the previous close? (I was thinking possibly at around midnight or something, but I wanted an answer from someone who knew) Thank you!
I've come to learn tht Forex is'nt the Complete Market i red about and tought of, an Intranet monopoly. True? I have been reading Forex Materials enthusiastically to become a disciplined trader within a year time or two, but came to learn that it is a biased market where you may well be in for fighting a losing battle against the brokers who will allways have the upper hand and who know how to get the best of the traders. I would be more than greatfull, if somone could enlighten me on this very issue realistically and telling me that if a fundamental based trading or any other simple approach may get a would be forex trader to achive certain degree of success? My thanks in advance for your time and best wishes. Ramon
Is there a group of people who can trade the forex markets without a spread, or at least MUCH less than I pay? If trillions of dollars gets traded back and forth on a daily basis, it doesn't make any sense that everyone has to pay a spread of 0.03%, because that is a lot of money that is disappearing from everyone's pockets, a billion dollars a day, and even if they did all have to pay it, it has to be going to someone. Someone who is able to trade for free because he is the one who keeps the profits of the difference between bid and ask. Who is that someone? I ask because I have created an adaptive trading method that only works with horribly low spread. Too low for me to use, but it must be horrifically valuable to SOMEone out there. And when I say it is adaptive, I mean that there is no a priori strategy, it looks at the last 63 days every 2 weeks and decides on the trading rules it will apply over the next two weeks from that alone, so it isn't adapted to any future data; it's not cheating. Operating on the USD/JPY from July 1, 2007 to Feb 13, 2009, these are its results from one run (since it contains random variables, if you ran it again on the exact same data you'd get different numbers, but the same SORTS of results): Commission=0.02: Total gain=1.9586666009107498e-001 Total commissions=4.3467080397738096e+000 Commission=0.01: Total gain=1.4452129891615770e+000 Total commissions=2.5255991687861270e+000 Commission=0.0079: Total gain=6.0134531854447415e+000 Total commissions=1.3535088531109761e+001 Commission=0.005: Total gain=8.3681903017587498e+007 Total commissions=2.2229280168087495e+008 Commission=0.0029: Total gain=5.3964686183550566e+012 Total commissions=6.6395560659541475e+012 Commission=0.0019: Total gain=3.7134772078865466e+017 Total commissions=2.0657410633892125e+017 Commission=0: Total gain=4.7437229016568531e+049 Total commissions=0 Note that 5.5e+026 is the computer's way of expressing scientific notation, and that example would be 5.5 times 10 to the 26th power. As you can see, it works astronomically well with as low a spread as possible, but nothing that is given realistically by any brokers to small fish like me. -------------------- The answer I will not accept: "there would be no one willing to facilitate trades if they didn't get to take a cut" Obviously. I'm asking if there's anyone who takes a smaller cut. Or maybe a cut that doesn't go up with trade size - after all, buy stocks with a stock broker, and it's usually 5 or 10 dollars per TRADE. But it doesn't matter what the trade size is. But with a spread on the forex market, with double the trade size, it's double the commission. And like I said, whoever IS pocketing the difference, surely HE must be able to trade without a spread since he's the one who pockets the difference! Certainly this would be worth something to THAT person. It is fundamentally impossible for everyone to lose that money when they trade because it GOES somewhere, and it certainly doesn't COST that much to keep the markets running. It doesn't cost anyone anything for me to enter in an electronic order to trade 300 thousand dollars for 30 million yen and for it all to be carried out by computers but I lose about 100 dollars each round trip in the act of doing so. Maybe at the very least there's some group of people who pay, say, a million dollars a year for however much trading they want, in lieu of spreads. This trading method would make a lot more than that million dollars. Bill Q - of course if as you say, it's not being collected by one single group but by multitudes of middlemen, that could be a problem. But the thing is, it doesn't really need to be ZERO - it would need to be about a sixth of what the best brokers I can find charge to work reasonably well - and as you can see from the list above, the less percentage they charge, the more actual commissions are actually collected as well so it would be in their best interests to consider it. The thing is, that if they're offering .03% per trade, that means they're happy with a profit of a mere 3 dollars for one USD/JPY lot (10000 USD against however many JPY that is equivalent to). Or even smaller scale, they're willing to settle for a dollar or so with one MXN/JPY lot (mexican peso). Yet they insist on 3000 dollars of profit for me to trade 1000 lots. No middleground at all! If they'd only settle for a mere 300, we could all make SO much money! But WHO would I talk to about possibly doing this?
Who is with oceanside wealth forex and what results have you experienced? Has anyone else heard of this group? I first learned about it when searching for forex training. It does look good and I would rather place money in the hands of professional people then gamble around but i have a hard time believing it will produce 20% a month. I'm a little confused because oceanside appears to be forex investment compounding w/ network marketing. do i have to recruit others to earn any money? I'm just looking for a safe place to invest. Please advise.
What is a "FIX" in forex terminology? I've read of a FIX being defined as,"One of the approximately 5 times during the FX day when a large amount of currency must be bought or sold to fill a commercial customers' orders. Typically these times are associated with market volatility." Can anyone tell me anymore about FIX's such as what times they occur exactly?
LMT-Forex-Formula or FapTurbo? Which one is better? I plan to spend $150, and both of these are $150, but which one is better? I plan to only invest $100 in the forex market, but I don't know which one is truly better. They both look promising, I plan to dedicate my time and invest money in the forex market and of course I want to make a full-time income, but which one of these can help me make a full-time income? If there is anyone out there who uses these systems what are the results? And how much can I expect to make with them if I do everything correctly?
Forex demos that allow you to go back in time? What I want to do is pull up a random day last week and demo a forex program for that day. Obviously, I can't practice on the weekends otherwise, because the markets are closed. I know some online stock brokers let you go back in time and demo your strategies. Is there a good Forex site that allows the same?
Hedging forex risks when trading currency for profit.? If I were to trade USD/GBR on forex market, what sort of hedge would I use to reduce my level of risk? Ie would I buy other currencies at the same time, or use forward contracts / future contracts or even options. Which is the most common and effective. Thanks
How much leverage are you comfortable trading in FOREX? Does anyone have any suggestions on a leverage limit? Many FOREX brokers allow up to 200:1 leverage. My trading strategy is to take just very small gains (3 or 4 pips at a time) and set the stop losses way out there just to avoid a total wipeout. I never trade on Fridays either and of course close out before the market closes. Because of the giant stop losses, I am only comfortable with around 20:1 leverage or maybe 30:1. In other words, with a $500 margin account balance, I would only consider buying 0.1 lots of EURUSD (10,000) at a time; 0.2 lots with $700; 0.3 lots with $1100 and so on... Does anyone out there use the same strategy as me and feel comfortable with higher leverage like 40:1, 50:1 or even higher?
I was wondering which online forex trading site is the best and has a least minimum depost? Hi, I was looking into the forex trading market and I was wondering which online trading site is the best and has the smallest minimum deposit and is trust worthy. is there any forex sites that accepts payments from other countries other than the US. I reside in India and so having a bank account in the US will be a problem, since paypal will not work for me either if I want to withdraw money from there. I looked into fxcm.com and it has a minimum deposit of 300$ US and forex.com has a minimum deposit of 250$ US for the mini account and avafx.com has 100$ US minimum is there any other good site? also it should show results in real time. Thanks.
Is there a Forex Trading indicator that shows “in real time” how many pairs are being traded? Is it possible for one to manipulate the price of a currency pair by selling or buying a huge amount? I don't want to buy a huge lot and the price goes down because my own trade made it go down. I don't want my own trade to change the price trend because if I buy more than is actually being traded on the market, it more likely will go in the opposite direction I want it to go.
is there software dat trades different accts in different platforms @ d same time in d forex market? software that trades currencies on different platforms and different accts at the same time in the forex market.
I want to go into Forex trading, can anybody please give me sound and practical advice on how I can succeed? And if you can direct me to good sites that can help me in my FX trading, thanks for your assistance.
i have a strategy to earn $250 per month by trading in forex on $3500 capital..how to market that ? what is the best method? a fixed monthly subscription, sharing profits or one time payment? please suggest.......
How do I increase my returns in the stock market if I can get an average of 3 percent over the market return? My returns for the last 5 years have been ( OVER the market return, which was a negative number, I KNOW!!!), for each year 0 percent, +3 percent, 1 percent, +5 percent, +6 percent. This averages 3 percent each year. I didn;t really get these returns, and I have never invested a penny in the stock market- I am just asking this question because I am trying to lean about the stock market- SO DON"T WRITE IN YOU'RE answer that I cannot probably get an average +3% return over the market. I know that the only people who can do this are extremely talented and mentally conditioned and usually old guys who are multibillion dollar mutual fund managers. Anyway, If I CAN get an AVERAGE return over the market of 3%, how would I augment such returns. I know that I can leverage my returns many times, and then buy a put option and sell a call option to protect myself from irregular and unprecedented losses (and gains :( ). I know that if I am able to be the one out of every 10000 career investors in the forex market, I can use extreme leverage to 10x my money annually, but this is too risky. Is there any other way that anybody knows of???????
How do taxes on Forex work? I might start trading currencies in a little bit but I was worried a little about the taxes on forex. I understand there is no limit on day trades in forex right? So if there are no limits I might end up doing 10 trades per day. Additionally, the forex market is open all day so this gives me even more time to trade. Come time to file my taxes, do I have to report every single trade I made and the profit/loss on each of those trades? Or do I just have to submit my profit/loss overall? If I end the year with a thousand trades or something I don't know what I will do if I have to report each and every one individually!
What's a type of market or security which is informationaly inefficient, and in which I can get much leverage? small cap stocks are informationally inefficient, but one can only leverage oneself 2 times over (sometimes, no leverage, if the stock is trading below 5 dollars). There are also no stock options for small cap stocks. The forex market is leveragable 100 times over, but it is too informationally efficient. Please give me a type of market which is known to be informationally inefficent, and in which I can leverage myself many times over!!!!!!!!!!!
In forex, what happens when a well distributed EA issues buys and sells at the same time? This is a hypothetical question, but would happen if you had developed an EA that was widely distributed. Specifically, I'm wondering how the markets would react when enough people are all buying or selling huge 100 lot trades all at the same time. What happens when there are 1 million, 1 billion, 1 trillion users all running this EA? This EA would do it's BUY or SELL at a specific time every day...
Forex Demo and Live? About 3 years ago I was introduced to the FOREX market. I took a stupid technical analysis course which taught me almost nothing about application of technical analysis, just meanings behind formations and candlesticks. I invested 5k with FXCM and started trading. I lost the 5k in 2 months, and at the time, 22 years old, losing that much money was devastating. I have been running demos since then trying to figure out my problem. Finally, after three years, I am profiting in demo's substantially. Each thirty day demo I have ran in the last 3 months has had 50-100% gain. I feel so comfortable reading charts and analyzing economical data, I never thought I would be this way. I have been studying the market and patterns daily for 3 years straight. Anyone with REAL experience, think I am ready to give it another shot? Yes I know all about retracements, fibonaacci elliot wave, flag formation, pivot points, moving averages. all which i use. I understand the basics completely. emotionally, i think i will be fine, because i have a system and only move into trades if they meet my conditions.
Can someone help me? I need assistance in raising capital to trade forex.? I would like for someone kind enough to offer me a loan of $600 USD for the duration of One Month, at which time I would pay back with 20% interest. The reason I ask for such an amount is to enable me have a trading capital of my own and also to be able to pay back the loan. I’ve been trading or sort of testing the market and a news service that is crucial to success in trading the Forex Market. I’m interested in having a standard trading account that will bring in substantial amounts of returns on trades made but my problem is that I do not have any money to do that, and this is why I have come to you $500 will be used as the start of capital and the other $100 will be used to pay for the subscription of the news service without which I would not even bother to trade forex with a loan. Please assist me if you can with this request. My intended mode for this little business transaction is through the e-currency; Liberty Reserve. Please kind people assist me. I'm ready to give details and prove of residence to show that I can be contacted and traced if I do not fulfill my part.

With the financial crisis, whats a good currency to trade against the US dollar? (Either buy or sale)? I'm thinking about the forex market and believe it may now be a good time to buy or sale currency pair. What currency pair would you recommend to trade and in what direction (buy/sale?)
Why isn't there a forex currency index? Just like the stocks are combined into NASDAQ for example, then why can't you combine the forex pairs and assign them a mathematical value??? Take a look here: http://www.fxstreet.com/rates-charts/currencies-glance/ Fxstreet lists 34 forex pairs. Benefits: - Less risk.More pairs - less risk. Traders will take advantage because the market is open day/night in contrast to the daily trades among the stock market. That said, the forex traders gain several times more action with reduced risk, thanks to the combination of many pairs at once. No surprises anymore:Think about it: The european bank annouces higher rates, but the expectations were for lower rates. So, if you trade EUR/USD you will lose when you have selled. With such important news you will lose perhaps over 50 pips and if you trade on 100:1 leverage buying more than 1 lot...say goodbye to your money. Even without leverage the big players will lose, unless they utilize some industrial espionage :) to predict the rates that are going to be anoounced. So...if the one pair goes higher with 50 pips, else will go downtrend with 50, which keeps the balance. Of course if the balance is perfect :) 50/50 the index won't move and you will not benefit at all :), but in case where you have 50/25 you get your 25 or less if your predictions are in the right direction. There is one drawback, of course, like anything in life :): With so many pairs it will be impossible to rely on any news announcements. Your only hope will be the candlestick chart, perhaps combined with some additional mathematical technics(martingales, random walk avoidance, compound interest) and economical such(hedging, options..). But isn't the technical data the favourite to the forex traders? So far, sadly there isn't a "forex index" to my knowledge??? So the best you can do is simply make your own "portfolio" and assign it a mathematical value. I plan to create a computer program(...a can do that ;), to calculate and trace such index value of about 40 forex pairs. If I succeed, I will post it here with link to website to see the index in action :). Thanks.
Where to find announcements that affect Japanese yen? I noticed that there was unusually large movement on the GBP/JPY currency pair in the end of October '08 to the beginning of November '08. I looked on Forex Factory for an explanation, but found none that would explain that kind of movement. My question is twofold: 1) What caused such huge movement in this market at this time? 2) Since it's not on Forex Factory, where else can I find a heads up about whatever caused these huge (mainly bearish) runs?
do you know if "forex killer" work. does it predict trades? i am interested in forex and found this website that clams it can predict which direction the market is going it? does it work? it costs two hundred dollars to buy the softwar.is it a scam - here is the link to the site - http://www.forex-killer.com/ thanks for your time.
I found a website www.freedominforex.com. Has anyone heard of it and what do you think? The site has 2 videos one for the product and one for the business. The company is FreedomRocks.com The product is a program that will help you trade in the forex market and show you how to hedge your trade and make daily interest on the money at better than market rates for banks and mutual funds. The business video talks about a MLM plan with the business. More interested in the product than the business. Would like to know peoples thoughts on the product or information you might have. I tried the 15 day free trial and was making over 30% annual interest on my money. They showed how I could make more but also had to take bigger risk trading. I was able to swing some trades for positive return of 10% in 15 days trading conservatively with a demo account. I have only been in the forex market for a short time but found it very intriguing. Thanks for your responses in advance.
FOREX question please help? I am aware of the market opening times across the globe but was curious to know if a currency can be traded when it's own market is closed? And if so, would this simply be at the price of close of business the previous day? For example USD/JPY - can this be traded when tokyo is open but US isn't? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Forex Currency Trading? I am looking into opening an account with forex and I had a few questions. I have on of their practice accounts and I like it but some times the exchange rates do not change. The rates freeze up from time to time. Why is this? Is the market closed at some time? Also is this just with my practice account or does this happen with live accounts too. Another question is what is the minimum investment that you can start an account with and be able to trade? I know its like $250 or something, but when you trade, the smallest amount is like $100,000. I know that with leverage that can be $1,000 but is there any way to get that lower? Thanks for any responses!

Is there any place I can obtain this money online?
SpreadBetting, Bet Duration? The forex market is 24/7 so when you place a spread bet, how do you know when it stops? is it a 24h bet or does it like longer and does it depends on other factors? For exemple if I place a bet now, when is the time to read the actual result?
Who thinks Iran trading oil in Euros is going to work? Let me explain why it is not. Here are some basic facts about what a "bourse" is: •it's a place for sellers and buyers for a given product to meet. So, as a seller, you want a place where buyers come and, as a buyer, you want a place where sellers come. It's a meeting point. A meeting point is a form of conventional information, and one that is highly stable once established. People come to the market because they know that others will be there as well, and these are there for the same reason. Once players have agreed to come to one place, it is simpler to come to that place than to try and organise a new place, which everybody must agree to and which all occasional players need to be informed of. Just like DKos is now THE main meeting place for the progressives, the existing oil bourses have an massive advantage over any new one in that they already exist. London has remained the main trading place for a surprising number of commodities despite the British Empire being long gone and the US having replaced it as the largest economy - simply because the infrastructure was there, and the people with the competences to play there were still around. Windows is unassailable on desktops despite being obviously inferior in quality to some alternatives, simply because there is a real advantage for everybody to use a common standard, even if it imperfect. A bourse is a standard on where and how to trade. There is no compelling reason to move from London or New-York to Iran to trade oil. Iran only has 5% of world production and is in no position to impose anything. Network effects paly massively against a switch. •it's a place that allows a price to be set for the transaction. That means that you want many buyers if you're a seller, and many sellers, if you are a buyer. It provides liquidity. This is linked to the above point: liquidity exists when you have a deep market, i.e. many buyers and many sellers. That comes from having a place where everybody comes, and a place that everybody trusts because it works. "Don't fix it if it ain't broke" applies here. Again, this is a compelling argument against Iran. Iran can potentially act as a seller, but would will ensure that there are buyers on that particular market? •the other item related to price is that a bourse needs to provide a single price to act as a universal reference for everybody - a market standard, both in terms of the quality of the product, and the currency it is expressed in. This allows for historical data to be expressed consistently, and for market players to have useful references and background to do their trades. For oil, that currency is and has always been dollar, as a widely stable, universally accepted monetary unit. There is no market and no liquidity in any other currency. It is at least conceivable that the euro could be used as it is similarly stable and acceptable to all, but it has no history as an oil trading currency, and thus market players would naturally convert any price in euro into a price in dollars to see what it means (try switching from degrees Celsius to Farhenheit or from centimeters to inches to know why this matters). Again, there would need to be an overwhelming reason to force all market players to make the switch (and to do it all at the same time), which Iran does not provide. •a bourse is a place that provides security for the transactions. Buyers know that they will get their purchase delivered, and sellers know that they will get paid in a timely fashion. It provides clearing mechanisms. Do you expect other producers to rely on Iran to ensure timely payment of their sales? Do you intent to rely on Iran, an untested bourse, to be responsible for delivery by other parties? •it's a place that provides rules and enforcement of these rules for the proper functioning of the market, i.e all the above: who can participate, how prices are formed, how the clearing is organised, and how disputes are settled. It needs to be a neutral arbiter, uninvolved in the actual trading. Again, this plays against Iran, who is too small a player to impose rules to all, but too big to be seen as a neutral player by other sellers. And do you really want to take the risk that the religious authorities in the background or any other Iranian politician come and start meddling with the ongoing trades? •as rules will ultimately be set by public authorities overseeing the bourse, and disputes will ultimately be decided by courts of that place, it needs a consistent regulatory and legal framework. There's a reason why most commodity bourses are in Western countries. They provide the rule of law, a predictable set of rules, and a capacity to enforce these rules in an effective and market-neutral way. and they have a long track record of doing so. Iran? Not so much. •in today's world, a bourse is essentially a big IT operation, with systems able to provide complete market information to all participants in real times, treat operations as they are decided, and provide an unambiguous audit trail to all interested parties to a transaction. Again, that requires a lot of specialised competences on the ground: programmers, developpers, consultants to install them, the specialist hardware providers, etc... all people that need some (or a lot) of understanding of what's going on in the market. That's highly specialised knowledge, which is, naturally concentrated in the few places that carry bourses, i.e. a few large cities in the West. Iran will be hard pressed to attract such people to Tehran or thereabouts. •finally, the oil bourse is only a small part of the trading that goes on around oil. Most of what takes place are financial transactions: spot sales, forward sales, swaps, various hedging instruments, short term financing, long term financings. All these transactions rely on the underlying oil market, and significantly expand it. If you take out the oil market, or change its rules, standards, references, clearing mechanisms and enforcers, you kill the associated financial markets, which are vital to the world economy and underpin a large chunk of our industrial activity and energy needs. Do you really expect the financial markets to move to Tehran, which has neither the infrastructure, the competences, the legal framework or the stability to host them? Even a switch to the euro would need a massive reorganisation of the financial markets, which are exclusively geared to dollar transactions. This only amplifies the arguments made above about the sole oil market with respect to liquidity, standards and the like. And the legal and regulatory questions are even more important. Do you really want billions of euros of daily financial flows to be ultimately controlled by the Iranian Central Bank? It would basically take the outright destruction of the existing markets to provide any incentive to try to rebuild them differently, and Tehran would not be their first pick to do it... :: :: So, say that Iran decides to sell its oil in euros. Fine. Both the Iranians and their clients will determine the price for the transaction in dollars, on one of the established markets, and will trade these dollars for euros for the actual payment operation. It will give banks active on the forex markets a little bit of income, but will change nothing to how oil is traded. If they open a bourse, who will come? The answer is, no one, unless it is nothing more than the new place to buy oil from them and the transaction, whether in euros or in any other currency, will be negotiated in dollars, using existing market standards expressed in dollars, because there is no way that anybody will be able to express and clear the transaction in any other way. :: :: So please, let's stop the fantasies, or the conspiracy theories about a switch to euros or a new bourse. If any transaction, whether by Saddam, the Iranians or anyone else is expressed in euros, it is purely cosmetic. The underlying market is in dollars, and will remain that way. Those who poste these stories or push them are badly undermining their credibility and engaging in silly scaremongering. Article taken from energy bullitin magazine. Jerome a Paris is an energy banker in Paris and has a regular column at Daily Kos. Open your eyes: 83000000 bpd worldwide production, 4000000 bpd, Iran production, do the math. 4.8% share, but we call it 5%. They want to increase to 7million bpd by 2015. So if monkey twaddle means the numbers are right I guess it's monkey twaddle. Mental mickey, Iraq switched your right, did the economy crumble, no if fact it was in excellent shape, it was nothing more than a blip. He changed it back, wouldn't you, especially after the european oil for food scandal. "IF" OPEC, that's the linch pin word, of the 12 OPEC countries 10 are allies, 2 are enemies. China has little interest in seeing the dollar collapse, they have billions of dollars in reserve, why would they want to lose out. Paul D, no they don't, Canada has the 2nd largest oil reserves, Iran is 4th, unless you mean natural gas, then yes they are second. But very little of that is tapped, and they don't have any infrastructure or foreign investment, due to imbargos and lack of stable government. misty, 3 years is quick is it. openyoureyes: seeing as you are on here by noon everyday I would say you probably don't even have a job, I've been in the business for 20 years, how about you, have you even been alive that long. Paul D. I won't say it won't have any impact, but although the sum seems large, it's really just a drop in the bucket, not to mention if the oil price goes down, they lose out, Currently Iran spends over 4 billion a year on refined fuel imports, and even that is not enough, they need more, to keep the fuel ration rioters at bay. This will only increase in the future, so are they going to shoot themselves in the foot by having to buy back refined fuel in Euro's or will they wish to trade in the weak dollar then. Jack, they already trade outside the US dollar, but the price still fluctuates based on the dollar. How anyone thinks that moving trillion of any currency into an unstable ICB with a poor economic record, no infrastructure, and run by religious zealots is a smart move, is bewildering. James, the US economy has been in recession before. This is no different, a few months does not give an accurate forecast of things to come. Openyoureyes: Petty insults, invalid statements, and droll clichea's do not equate deconstruction of an argument, the just illustrate your limited intellect.

I'm 22 years of age, i'm an IT graduate, i failed in my first attempt of my final year project, did my second attempt and the result will be out in the end of july.should i fail my second attempt again, shall i settle for a general degree or should i pursue my 3rd class honors bachelors degree in computing again in other title?by the time i finish pursuing it i'll be a year and a half behind trailing my peers, thus Time and Cost are contributing a major holdback to my decision making given that my financial standing isn't favoring me. i'm six month out of job, the probabilty of some one hiring me for a decent job i'll perceive it very unlikely given the absence of unemployed for six month.since the scenario isn't to my favor i've thought of running a Dot Com marketing business (not MLM) if i should fail to seek any employment.another alternative which is online forex trading of which i've been following it closely for the past six month as well. so which 1 i should go for? sincere answer

Which is the better job, being an insurance agent or being an introducing broker for a Forex company? I found both opportunities at the same time. Both are soley commission based. Both require that I market and sell information to people I know and to people I dont know. Both have unlimited income potential which depends on how much I want to push myself. I would do both jobs but the insurance company wants my to sign a contract that would make me exclusive to them and I wouldnt be allowed to have a second job. Where the Forex company is okay with me having other jobs, heck I can even work for another Forex company. Whats great about the Insurance company is that they are one of the best in the United States. They are well know and they have a system in place that makes many of their agents a lot of money every year. If you respond please include your financial background.
I am now in the market for adopting-out my future child.? The father is smart, the mother is pretty. No drugs/no diseases. Serious inquiries only This is actually a question about how we as society deny realism. I am not having a baby, I'm a single guy, so here is my thesis. In my humble opinion, the "differences" which lead couple #1 to adopt the scarce baby (who we will call exhibit--A) when couple #1, couple #2 and couple #3 all were seeking the scarce resource. I am basically clueing in the world that "economics" is the invisible force which enforces glass-ceilings, which enforces racism, and enforces "investor stupidity"--I'm a finance guru--would love to write 30 pages on this subject, and I defecate and vomit every time that I hear of people not realizing that stocks are only a better investment than safer assets, based on nominal data. The truth is that, yes, overall if you have $100 you can invest in stocks or bonds or real-estate or REIT's or FOREX or other 4-letter words. Please share your thoughts logically?!
Is buying & taking physical custody of currency good? I want to buy foriegn currencies & already have an idea of which ones. I am not putting in a great deal (maybe $100 sporatically here & there, put in over time). Is it a good idea to go to a currency exchange place downtown & just buy it & let it grow, which it has & all indications show it will, even more & faster. Most of those Forex (not bashing any trader or broker, thats just the most popular one that I see) type traders tend to have high minimums just like brokers in order to do business, plus fees. I know that exchangers have fees too, but considering that I cant get into the market any other way, what do you think? Box815: Thanks for the insight! I know that I would be up against issues like that, but what are the options, if any, other than doing that & not being able to do it at all, using the big currency brokers with high minimums?
