Currency Trading For Dummies Knowledge Base

Could I gain 10% compounded every week by trading forex? I am going to be 18 in 6 days. I have a practice account with FX Express. I've even bought Currency Trading For Dummies to learn what I need to know about trading currencies. With my practice account which is like the real thing, (apart from emotions!), I have been making 10%+ compounded every day. However, I want to be a little more realistic here and say with real money, I could maybe make 10% compounded a week with real money. I want to know is this is actually possible to do when you put in real money?

When determining rollover rates in forex, does lot size matter? From page 55 in Currency Trading for Dummies, I broke down the huge formula to: for long postion: ((x - y)bD)/365 where x = long side interest rate in decimal y = short side interst rate in decimal D = days b = exchange rate in decimal a would equal lot size. I dont think it does really. but this again is only for rollover rates.. just wondering

I want to trade currencies on the Forex market..what aremybest options for educating myself ? I want to trade currencies, and I want to go for tiny deals each time, and profit from the volatile nature of the Forex market, but reduce my risk by having a very tight risk management system that always protects my bank, I am looking to make tiny profits, on the fluctuations on a daily basis, but over and over again,I am looking for the best advice in terms of getting educated and started... I have ALREADY been dummy trading on bullbearings, this is not what I am looking for, nor do I want to join an expensive course which I could find advertised anywhere, and which I do not know if I can trust. Essentially I want to learn the necessary, to make the very small gains I am initially looking to make ,but on EACH trade, and from there I would like to ramp up. Your advice would be appreciated. also your experiences... Ithink it is possible to educate yourself to a level where one canmake small gains , with minimal risk, as long as the risk is understood and there is a risk management stratergy which protects your bank. I am not in a hurry, and I am not trying to get rich quick, but one day say in 5 to 10 years time I would like to be competent enough to trade with positive results. I do not believe this to be a dream which only a certain few people can ever hope to recognise. Education has enabled people to achieve far more spectacular feats than this in the past. I am looking for advice on education, not advice on if you think this is a good idea, the proof of the idea is already in the markets to be seen everyday.
stock market dummy training? I have seen in the webpage fxcm.com that they let you "trade" currencies when you open a training account; they give you 50k FAKE money, so you can train before going into the real stuff. Is there something similar but for the stock market??
Obama:"Take China "to the mat" about currency manipulation"- IT'S THE US MANIPULATING DUMMY! We have legislation that says that if, in fact, they are manipulating their currency--and I think there's no dispute that they are--that we need to take strong action. It's in the Banking Committee. I will say that it's actually a blunt tool. I'd prefer not doing this legislatively. The problem is we've had a president that has shown no leadership on it. So when I am in the White House, I will meet directly with the Chinese leadership and indicate we have to restore balance. And, by the way, we have to mobilize our allies, such as the European Union, to have that conversation with us. This is an imbalance that is not good for any economy over time. It's not sustainable, the trade imbalances that we have. OBAMA: Good luck in your trip to China, you will be laughed at. IT'S THE US COMPANIES IN CHINA THAT ARE PUSHING TO HAVE 1 us= 1 rmb ONLY THE EUROPEAN NEWCOMERS WANT TO KEEP THINGS LIKE OBAMA. That's call backward change. WAKE UP! Well Fraginal there's more going on with China than trade. WE the US companies in China are doing pretty well. You bring china to the mat, you go bakwards. tc: Let me explain. I don't like Bush, but he got what's going on here...If Obama sits here and demands to china to the mat, it's like dude...sure, but you loose to Europe!
paper trading in currency and copper futures? Hi, I am thinking of investing beyond equities and want to try currency and copper. But first I want to do some dummy trades. Any suggestions on where to start (any book or site providing step by step instruction)? I want to have a real feel with the margin requirements, volatility, etc.
